Angels amongst us..

Today I found a sweet angel, standing quietly in a corner of our local garden nursery.  I found her face so sweet, and her presence so serene.  I wanted to share her with you..., and this wonderful poem by Maya Angelou...

Touched By an Angel
by Maya Angelou

We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
in the flush of love's light
we dare be brave
and suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.

beautiful ecosystem of image and poem... It makes me think of daring to "risk love"... here's a quote that comes to mind when I think of angels, love, risk, and liberation: "A jump into the arena of change involves being alert in the sense of breaking past patterns. But with an understanding of the part risk must play, risk becomes a lover, the partner in the jump, the essential. And risk is in a very calculated way the key and the only entrance into the arena of change." -Robin Vaccarino
